According to a 2012 statistic, 75% of women dye their hair in some way. That could mean going to a stylists, which a good job will cost anywhere from $60-100 dollars. Or you could do it yourself, which would probably cost around $4-20 (assuming something doesn't go horribly wrong like it did for Anne.)
So without taking your hair through the trial and error ordeal, how can you find your perfect hair color?
- First you can try a quiz that helps you narrow down to several colors that might look good with your skin tone.
- You can also try this site, where you can get an even better idea of what a certain hair color would look like on you. All you have to do is upload a picture of yourself.
- Also, Redbook gives some tips on picking and keeping up with your hair color.
This star colorist gave his opinion of why people color their hair based on his years of observation and experience. He said that often it's a way for a person to outwardly express his or her mood or personality. Along those lines, he said blond is by far the most popular hair color choice. He thinks perhaps it's because blond psychologically makes people feel brighter and cheerier, whereas dying hair darker can be devastating if the person isn't really ready for the change.
Because God is so creative, He has made a broad spectrum of hair, eye and skin colors to make each individual unique. And He also has given us the capability to show some creativity of our own. So if you're ready for a change, find a hair color that suits you and have fun with it!
